SDN, COSENTRY TEAM UP TO OFFER BUSINESS DISASTER RECOVERY
POSTED: JUN 01, 2007
Two local companies that focus on keeping businesses open even in the event of disasters have partnered to create a network-ready, back-up office in Sioux Falls.
CoSentry brings the back-up office facility to the deal; SDN delivers the protected communications network to keep the electronic information going.
CoSentry's back-up office facility is located in the City's north end industrial parks. The company is a regionally-recognized leader for supplying emergency space that includes work stations, computers, phones and all the office equipment necessary to start up business immediately after a disaster. CoSentry has back-up office facilities in Omaha, Kansas City, and Sioux Falls.
SDN Communications' network has 14,000 miles of protected fiber optics in the region. The agreement puts SDN's network directly into CoSentry's facility, giving any business facing a disaster instant access to a ready-to-go network.
"The first days and weeks after a disaster are critical in a business getting back on its feet," says Cris Freiwald, CoSentry's General Manager for the Dakotas. "A majority of businesses fail after a disaster because they don't have a back-up office or a network with which to connect."
"In today's world the protected fiber optic network connection is as critical to a business survival as the work space," SDN Communications CEO Mark Shlanta said. "This is a solid match up for the two organizations, and a progressive opportunity for any business looking into disaster recovery planning."
Both companies believe more collaborative efforts will evolve as the relationship and networks mature.
