LOCAL CABLE ADVERTISING NOW AVAILABLE TO ADDITIONAL COMMUNITIES IN EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA

POSTED: SEP 05, 2008

Local businesses now have a new, affordable way to attract customers from across the region thanks to a partnership among SDN Communications, its nine video partners and Viamedia.

The new cable ad insertion product is available to area businesses beginning September 2. The system gives local companies the opportunity to market to 80 South Dakota communities on 24 cable channels.

"Cable ad insertion provides a unique opportunity for local businesses to extend their marketing reach to television sets across eastern South Dakota.  SDN and its member companies provide an affordable advertising venue that reaches a previously untapped market," said CEO Mark Shlanta.

Channels on which advertising can be inserted include: ABC Family, Nickelodeon, TV Land, TNT, USA, Lifetime, Discovery, History, TLC, TBS, CNN, Fox News, ESPN, ESPN2, HGTV, CMT, MTV, AMC, Travel, A&E, Spike TV, Hallmark, Bravo and NFL Network.

Cable television advertising provides several key advertising benefits:

  • Television combines sight, sound and motion, making your messages more memorable.
  • Television is the most persuasive advertising medium and has the highest viewer recall of all ad mediums.
  • The average TV household watches 8 hours and 11 minutes of television a day (source: Nielsen Media).
  • Quality, targeted programming allows businesses to reach the audience most likely to buy their product or service based on lifestyle and interests.
  • Cable advertising allows businesses to reach a large, targeted audience at an affordable price.

Businesses interested in learning more about the opportunities available through cable advertising can contact Deb Nichols from Viamedia at 605-965-9369 or dnichols@viamediatv.com.

The cable head end and equipment for ad insertion are housed at SDN Communications in Sioux Falls.
