A recent survey by Infonetics Research shows that 96% of US companies plan to implement a unified communications system in the future. Most businesses indicated that combining communication tools will simplify things for users and improve overall office productivity.
Equipment providers are taking note of this trend and looking to strategic partnerships to help bolster their market position. Examples of these new partnerships include Microsoft and Polycom and HP and Avaya. Cisco, already a strong player in networking equipment, is capitalizing on its position by developing enhanced collaboration systems for both enterprise and SMB.
