How Habitat for Humanity has Helped Me and My Family

SDN Communications has sent two groups of volunteers to help construct a Habitat for Humanity House in Canton, SD.  The house is being constructed for Kari Ranschau, an employee of SDN.  Visit our YouTube channel to view SDN employees helping construct the house.  Here is Kari's story:  "Two years ago I had to leave an unhealthy marriage.  My two sons (Caleb 16 yrs and Logan 14 yrs) and I moved into a very small apartment in Canton with hope to have house again someday.  Right away I went to the bank and got my pre-approved amount and began house hunting.  Too much disappointment, all that was in my price range were homes that were in very poor condition and would require thousands of dollars to get them to a livable condition.  I had to accept my situation for what it was and realize that a home is not something that my boys and I were going to have any time in the near future.  That's when I found Habitat.  My boys and I will receive a home in Canton late this fall.  I am truly blessed not only to receive a home to provide a better place for my boys to grow up, but to be a part of such an incredible experience!  I am overwhelmed with all the support people have provided in the building of our home.  We cannot wait to have a place to call Home Sweet Home!"
